About Media Impact Training (MIT)
MIT is a response to a simple but urgent need. It was created by MediaErrands News after years of observing a growing gap between the desire to work in media and the readiness to do the work well. Many young people are passionate about journalism, but very few are guided through the realities, discipline, and responsibility the profession demands. MIT exists to close that gap.
This training is built on the belief that journalism is not just about writing stories or speaking into a microphone. It is about understanding people, asking the right questions, verifying facts, and reporting with integrity. MIT places strong emphasis on impact. Stories are not treated as content alone, but as tools that can inform, correct, inspire, and hold power accountable.
MIT is practical at its core and participants would be exposed to how newsrooms think, operate, and make decisions. They learn how stories are sourced, developed, edited, and published. Beyond technical skills, the training helps participants develop judgement, clarity, confidence, and ethical awareness.Mistakes are treated as learning points, and growth is encouraged through honest feedback and mentorship.
The programme also recognises that the media landscape is changing. MIT therefore blends traditional journalism values with modern digital practices. Participants are guided on how to write for online audiences, use digital tools responsibly, and adapt to the fast pace of today’s media environment without compromising standards.
At its heart, Media Impact Training is about purpose. It is for people who want their work to matter. It is for those who understand that journalism carries influence and responsibility, and who are willing to learn how to use that influence wisely. MIT does not promise shortcuts or instant success. It offers direction, structure, and a solid foundation for anyone serious about building a future in media.
